What to Expect From Your First Personal Training Session at Habitat Gym
Starting at a new gym can feel overwhelming. If you’re out of routine, feeling unfit, or not sure where to begin, you’re not alone. That’s how most people feel when they walk through our doors for the first time.
Whether it’s been years since you’ve trained, or you’ve never stepped foot inside a gym, the first session at Habitat will help you feel confident, supported and you’ll walk out with a plan to work towards your goals.
You’re Not Expected to Know It All
No one knows everything. We don’t know it all either but we’re always investing in our own development so we can be better coaches for you.
Your first session is about getting to know you: where you’re starting from, what your goals are, and understanding how your body moves.
We’ll run through a movement assessment to see what we need to focus on, and start with the foundational exercises so we can see how you move under load, and where your fitness levels are at.
And don’t worry, you’re not expected to keep up with anyone else. This isn’t a bootcamp. It’s personal.
From Confused to Clear
One of the biggest reasons people give up on exercise is because they don’t know where to start.
Your first session removes all the confusion. We’ll put together a plan to get you from where you are to where you want to be. We’ll make sure it works with your lifestyle, fitness level, and goals.
You’ll know exactly what to do, how to train properly, and how it fits into your goals.
It’s Not About Going All In, It’s About Taking the First Step
We’re not here for sweat’s sake or so you can’t walk out of the gym after a workout because it was too hard. That’s not sustainable, and it’s not our style.
Instead, your first few sessions focus on helping you build confidence, learn good technique, and feel safe in the gym. We’ll ease you in, build trust with our coaches, and gradually start to think, “Hey… this actually feels good.”
And that mindset shift? That’s where the motivation starts.
